Respected Sir/Madam,

I, [Name of Assessee], PAN [PAN], am in receipt of the notice under Section 148 alleging that income chargeable to tax has escaped assessment for A.Y. [Assessment Year].

In compliance with the notice, and without prejudice to my right to object to the reopening, I have filed the return of income for the said year vide acknowledgement no. [ITR-V Number] dated [Date]. I hereby request that the reasons recorded for reopening the assessment, along with the approval obtained under Section 151, be kindly furnished to enable me to file my detailed objections.
