Tenancy Renewal Agreement

An agreement renewing an existing tenancy for a further term on revised rent while continuing the original terms.

TENANCY RENEWAL AGREEMENT

This Agreement is made on [Date] between [Lessor] and [Lessee]

  1. Parties. This Renewal Agreement is between [Owner Name], R/o [Address] (the "Lessor") and [Tenant Name], R/o [Address] (the "Lessee").
  2. Recital. The parties had entered into a Rent Agreement dated [Original Date] for the premises described below, which is now being renewed.
  3. Property Description. The premises are [Flat/Unit No., Locality, City, PIN], admeasuring [Area], as per the original agreement.
  4. Renewed Term / Duration. The tenancy is renewed for a further period of [11 months] from [Renewal Start Date] to [Renewal End Date].
  5. Revised Rent & Escalation. The revised monthly rent is Rs. [Amount] (escalated by [10]% over the previous rent), payable by the [5th].
  6. Security Deposit. The existing deposit of Rs. [Amount] shall [continue / be topped up by Rs. [Amount]] and remain refundable on vacation.
  7. Use. The premises shall continue to be used for [residential/commercial] purposes only, without sub-letting.
  8. Maintenance & Utilities. The maintenance and utility arrangements under the original agreement shall continue during the renewed term.
  9. Continuation of Terms. All other terms of the original Rent Agreement dated [Original Date] shall remain in force except as modified herein.
  10. Notice. Either party may terminate the renewed tenancy by [one] month's written notice.
  11. Termination. The Lessor may terminate on default in rent or breach of terms, requiring the Lessee to vacate.
  12. Stamp Duty & Registration. Stamp duty and registration of this renewal, where applicable, shall be borne by the [Lessee].
  13. Governing Law. This Agreement is governed by Indian law, subject to courts at [City].
