▸ How to use & important notes
  • Execute on non-judicial stamp paper of the value prescribed by your State Stamp Act (a retirement/release deed may attract duty on the amount settled in some States).
  • File the change in constitution with the Registrar of Firms (intimation of change) where the firm is registered.
  • Give public notice of retirement (Section 32) — without it, the retiring partner may remain liable to third parties for the firm's subsequent acts.
  • Obtain the retiring partner's written acknowledgement of full and final settlement; update PAN/GST and bank mandates for the reconstituted firm.
