Reactivate your DIN & file DIR-3 KYC today
Our team files DIR-3 KYC, pays the fee and restores your deactivated DIN — end to end.
Disclaimer: Indicative estimate. The late fee for filing DIR-3 KYC after the due date is a flat ₹5,000 per DIN under Rule 11 of the Companies (Registration Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014. Confirm current fees on the MCA portal before filing.
DIR-3 KYC — the essentials
Every individual who holds a Director Identification Number (DIN) as on 31 March must complete DIR-3 KYC by 30 June, once every three consecutive financial years,. It is an annual identity verification with the MCA — not a one-time filing. Miss the deadline and the DIN is deactivated, with a flat ₹5,000 late fee to bring it back.
What happens if you miss the deadline
The moment the 30 June deadline passes without filing, the MCA marks the DIN "Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC". A deactivated DIN cannot be used to sign or file any forms, and the director effectively cannot act until the DIN is reactivated. Reactivation is simple: file the pending DIR-3 KYC and pay the flat ₹5,000 late fee for that DIN.
Key terms explained
Who must file DIR-3 KYC
Every person who has been allotted a DIN on or before 31 March of a financial year, and whose DIN is in "Approved" status, must file DIR-3 KYC for that year — even if they are not currently a director in any company.
The 30 June deadline
DIR-3 KYC is due by 30 June, once every three consecutive financial years. File on or before this date and the government fee is ₹0. File after, and a flat ₹5,000 late fee applies per DIN.
DIN deactivation
Missing the deadline flags the DIN as "Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC". The DIN cannot be used to file forms or sign documents until reactivated by filing the pending KYC with the ₹5,000 fee.
DIR-3 KYC vs DIR-3 KYC-Web
DIR-3 KYC (eForm) is filed the first year, or whenever your email/mobile changes, with an attached form. DIR-3 KYC-Web is a quick web-based OTP verification for those whose details are unchanged since last year — no eForm needed.
Questions people ask
Short answers on DIR-3 KYC Penalty. Tap a question to open it.
01What is the penalty for late DIR-3 KYC?
A flat late fee of ₹5,000 per DIN. There is no daily accrual and no proportionate scaling — the amount is the same whether you are a day late or a year late.
02What happens to the DIN if KYC is not filed?
The MCA deactivates the DIN and flags it as "Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC". While deactivated, the director cannot sign any e-form and the companies they serve cannot complete their own filings using that DIN.
03How do I reactivate a deactivated DIN?
File the DIR-3 KYC Web form with the ₹5,000 late fee. Reactivation is normally reflected within a day or two of the payment being processed.
04Is the fee per director or per company?
Per DIN, and therefore per director. A person holding one DIN pays ₹5,000 once no matter how many companies they are a director of.
05When is DIR-3 KYC due now?
Once every three consecutive financial years, by 30 June of the due year, under the amended Rule 12A in force from 31 March 2026. A director compliant at the changeover is next due on 30 June 2028.
