AD code registration
The Authorised Dealer code is issued by your bank and registered with customs at each port you export from. Without it customs will not process shipping bills, and export proceeds and IGST refunds cannot be routed to your account.
- Issued by
- Your bank · Customs
- Law
- Customs Act 1962 and the export procedures under the Foreign Trade Policy
- Where to apply
- icegate.gov.in
TaxClue does not handle this service. It is on the checklist because many of our clients need it. Raise a request and we will try to connect you with someone who can do it, where possible.
How AD code registration works
The usual picture. Procedures, fees and forms differ by state and authority — always check the current rules before you apply.
Who needs it
- Every exporter of goods, for each port of export
- Exporters claiming IGST refunds or drawback
Documents usually asked for
- AD code letter from your bank
- IEC and GST registration
- PAN and address proof of the business
The process
- Ask your AD bank for the AD code letter
- Register it on ICEGATE for the port
- Customs verifies and links it to your IEC
- Repeat for each new port you ship from
What we can do today
The other registrations the same businesses need — these we handle end to end.
Registrations we handle
Often needed alongside AD code registration.
