If you forgot your Udyam Registration Number (URN), recover it free on udyamregistration.gov.in. Open the Print / Verify menu, click "Forgot Udyam/UAM No.", choose Mobile or Email OTP, enter the number/email you registered with, validate the OTP and your URN is shown instantly. If OTP is not possible, use the Verify Udyam option with PAN, or contact the Udyam helpdesk. There is no fee.
Recover your URN only on the government site udyamregistration.gov.in. Many look-alike private sites charge a fee for a service that is free on the official portal. TaxClue never asks for portal OTPs — the OTP goes to the enterprise owner's own registered mobile/email.
How to Recover a Forgotten Udyam Number

Menu labels on the portal may read "Print / Verify" then "Forgot Udyam/UAM No.". The URN format is UDYAM-XX-00-0000000.
What If My Mobile Number Has Changed?
The OTP goes to the mobile/email you used at registration (usually your Aadhaar-linked mobile). If that number is inactive, you have three routes:
- Try Email OTP first — if you registered an email, use the Email option instead of Mobile; it often still works when the phone has changed.
- Update your Aadhaar mobile — visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre, update the linked mobile, then use OTP recovery on the Udyam portal.
- Contact the Udyam helpdesk / DIC — email the Champions/Udyam helpdesk or visit your District Industries Centre with enterprise name, PAN and ID proof for manual recovery.
The online "Forgot Udyam/UAM No." flow needs an OTP to your registered mobile or email. PAN can only verify an existing registration (via Verify Udyam) or support a manual helpdesk request — it will not display a forgotten URN on its own.

Tips to Avoid Losing Your URN Again
- Save a PDF and screenshot of the Udyam certificate right after registration
- Store the URN in a password manager or secure register
- Keep the registration confirmation email / SMS
- Keep your Aadhaar-linked mobile active and updated
- Record the registered email ID used for Udyam
- Note the PAN and enterprise name exactly as registered
