Udyam Certificate Download —
Free, in 6 Steps
How to print and save your Udyam (MSME) registration certificate as a PDF from the official portal — using your URN and an OTP. It is free, available 24/7, and there is no separate download button.
To download your Udyam certificate, go to udyamregistration.gov.in, open "Print / Verify", choose "Print Udyam Certificate", enter your Udyam Registration Number (URN), verify with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile or email, and then use your browser's Print → Save as PDF to save it. The download is free and available any time — there is no dedicated download button on the portal.
The certificate is free only at udyamregistration.gov.in. Several look-alike private sites charge a "download / print fee" for this free service or ask for card details — avoid them. The Udyam certificate is a permanent electronic record and can also be stored in DigiLocker.
How to Download the Udyam Certificate
- Your Udyam Registration Number (URN) handy
- Access to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number or email for OTP
- A browser with Print → Save as PDF (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)
- Only udyamregistration.gov.in open — not a paid look-alike site
The Udyam portal displays the certificate on screen but has no dedicated download button. The standard way to save it is your browser's Print function: press Ctrl+P (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+P (Mac), set the destination to Save as PDF, and save. This works on every device and browser.
Lost Certificate or Forgot Your URN
The certificate is never "lost" — it stays on the portal permanently and can be re-downloaded any number of times at no cost. The only thing you must have is your Udyam Registration Number and access to the OTP.
- Lost the PDF? Just repeat the Print / Verify steps above — there is no limit on how often you can re-download.
- Forgot your URN? Use the "Forgot Udyam / Print without URN" option on the portal, or recover it using your Aadhaar / mobile — see how to recover a forgotten Udyam number.
- Need to confirm a certificate is genuine? Use the Udyam verification tool on the same Print / Verify menu.
Can't access your URN or OTP mobile? Our team can help recover and re-download it.
Get Udyam Help →MSME Classification on Your Certificate
Your Udyam certificate shows whether the enterprise is Micro, Small or Medium. Budget 2025 raised these limits sharply — investment thresholds by 2.5x and turnover by 2x — effective 1 April 2025 (Notification S.O. 1364(E)). Both manufacturing and service enterprises use the same limits, and the higher of the two tests decides the category.
| Category | Investment in plant & machinery / equipment | Annual turnover |
|---|---|---|
| Micro | ≤ Rs 2.5 crore | ≤ Rs 10 crore |
| Small | ≤ Rs 25 crore | ≤ Rs 100 crore |
| Medium | ≤ Rs 125 crore | ≤ Rs 500 crore |
Limits effective 1 Apr 2025 per S.O. 1364(E). Exports are excluded from the turnover calculation. Classification is auto-computed from your PAN-linked ITR and GST data.
Udyam registration itself is free of cost and fully online at udyamregistration.gov.in, based on self-declaration and your PAN + Aadhaar. No documents or proof of investment/turnover need be uploaded, and no third party should charge a "government fee" for it.
What a Udyam Certificate Gets You
Beyond identity, the Udyam certificate unlocks the MSME benefit ecosystem. The most valuable for cash flow is the 45-day payment rule backed by Section 43B(h) of the Income-tax Act.
- Collateral-free credit under the CGTMSE scheme and priority-sector lending from banks.
- The 45-day payment rule + Section 43B(h): buyers must pay a registered micro/small supplier within 45 days (or the agreed period, max 45 days) — otherwise the buyer's expense is disallowed until actually paid, raising their taxable income.
- Interest on delayed payments under the MSMED Act (compound interest at 3x the RBI bank rate) via the MSME Samadhaan portal.
- Subsidies & concessions: lower interest, ISO/patent reimbursement, market-access and government-tender (GeM) preferences.
Because payments to a registered micro or small supplier beyond 45 days are disallowed as a deduction to the buyer until paid, large buyers increasingly ask suppliers for their Udyam certificate. Being registered — and keeping the certificate ready to share — can protect and speed up your receivables.
