Tariff values from 1 October 2026: crude palm oil US$ 1,229, gold US$ 1,339 per 10 grams, silver US$ 1,965 per kg — Notification 80/2026-Customs (N.T.)

CBIC has substituted the tariff value tables for edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver and areca nuts under Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.). The new values apply from 1 October 2026. The areca nut value is unchanged at US$ 11,574 per metric ton.

What the notification does

CBIC fixes tariff values for certain goods under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. Notification No. 80/2026-Customs (N.T.) dated 30 September 2026 substitutes Table-1, Table-2 and Table-3 of Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) dated 3 August 2001. It comes into force on 1 October 2026. The principal notification was last amended by Notification No. 75/2026-Customs (N.T.) dated 15 September 2026.

For entry 3, “silver in any form” does not include foreign currency coins, jewellery made of silver or articles made of silver. For entry 4, “gold findings” means a small component such as a hook, clasp, clamp, pin, catch or screw back used to hold the whole or a part of a piece of jewellery in place.

For imports of these goods from 1 October 2026, use the tariff values in the tables above; they replace the tables as last amended on 15 September 2026.
