Minimum Import Price of ₹67,220 per MT on Virgin Multi-layer Paper Board extended up to 31 March 2027: DGFT Notification No. 38/2026-27

What has been notified

By Notification No. 38/2026-27 dated 30 September 2026, issued under sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, the Central Government has extended the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on specific items covered under Chapter 48 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy).

The extension runs up to 31 March 2027. The notification states its effect in plain terms: the MIP of ₹67,220 per MT on Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value, imposed on import of Virgin Multi-layer Paper Board (VPB), has been extended for a period of six months.

  • Notification No. 26/2025-26 dated 22 August 2025;
  • Notification No. 69/2025-26 dated 31 March 2026;

All other terms and conditions remain the same as in Notification No. 26/2025-26 dated 22 August 2025. This notification does not change the price, the list of codes or any condition; it changes only the period.

It is issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.

What importers should do

  • If you import paper board under any of the five codes above, check that the CIF value of each consignment is in line with the MIP of ₹67,220 per MT for imports up to 31 March 2027.
  • For the conditions attached to the MIP, refer to Notification No. 26/2025-26 dated 22 August 2025, whose terms continue to apply.
