Export Obligation extension approved by PRC or EPCG Committee will now be issued by the system — no second application to the RA

Trade Notice 21/2026-27 introduces an automated facility for Advance Authorisation and EPCG cases: once the Committee approves, the exporter pays the fee on the DGFT portal and the extension letter is generated automatically.

In 30 seconds

  • Covers EO extension in Advance Authorisation and EPCG cases considered by the PRC / EPCG Committee.
  • After approval, a letter is issued for payment of the EO extension fee on the same Committee file.
  • On payment and response, the EO extension file is created and approved in the system and the letter is generated.
  • The revised EO expiry date is transmitted to ICEGATE.

Before and now

Earlier

After the Committee approved the extension, the exporter filed a separate EO extension application at the Regional Authority.

Now

The approved extension is processed through the system once the fee is paid; no separate application.

What changes for the exporter

Until now, an exporter whose Export Obligation (EO) extension was approved by the PRC or EPCG Committee had to file a separate EO extension application at the concerned Regional Authority. DGFT says the new facility removes that re-application and reduces manual processing and verification by the RA.

The four steps

  1. The exporter applies to the PRC / EPCG Committee for EO extension on the concerned Advance Authorisation or EPCG Authorisation.
  2. If the Committee approves, a letter for payment of the prescribed EO extension fee is issued on the submitted Committee file.
  3. The exporter pays the fee through the DGFT portal and submits the response.
  4. The EO extension file is automatically created and approved in the system, and the EO Extension Letter is generated.

The revised EO expiry date is reflected in the system records of the authorisation and transmitted to ICEGATE.
